Greg Valerio - CRED Founder

Winner of The Observer Ethical Awards Global campaigner 2011

Greg Valerio is a Fair Trade and human rights campaigner, and founder of both CRED Jewellery and the CRED Foundation. Greg is passionate about the potential of Fair Trade principles to transform the lives of indigenous communities around the globe, and has tirelessly campaigned for change in the jewellery and mining industries.

Having acheivedhis initial social aims, Greg left CRED Jewellery in September 2009 in order to focus on campaigning for the rights of small-scale mining communities around the world. During 2010 Greg worked exclusively with the Fairtrade Foundation in London, assisting them to develop the commercial and consumer facing side of the Fairtrade & Fairmined Gold supply chain, continuing the work started with determining these standards with Oro Verde.

Greg remains proud of CRED and what we have achieved, and represents the jewellery industry on the board of ARM.
