Sotrami Gold The majority of the Fairtrade and Fairmoned gold used by CRED comes from Sotrami mining cooperative based at San Filomena, Peru. Over 300 informal artisanal miners work in a previously abandoned mine in the Atacama Desert, forming the cooperative when the mines were nationalised in the 1970's, and now supporting over 500 families.

Oro Verde™ The Colombian mining collective who we have been working with since 2002, developing a working practice which formed the basis for the international Fairtrade and Fairmined Gold certification launched in February 2011. More about Oro Verde

ARM The Alliance for Responsible Mining are uniting small-scale miners around the world, seeking to establish and certify Fairtrade working practices. CRED are founder members.

FLO Fairtrade International certify Fairtrade products against international Fairtrade standards, and own the FAIRTRADE Mark. FLO and ARM worked together towards agreeing the standard and certification process for Fairtrade and Fairmined gold. The FAIRTRADE Mark is part of the Dual Label, and the Dual stamp that is applied to all Fairtrade and Fairmined certified products.

The Madison Dialogue The Madison Dialogue is a cross-sector initiative established to promote communication and information sharing among companies, civil society groups and others seeking to encourage best practices, sustainable economic development, and verified sources of responsible gold, diamonds and other minerals.

No Dirty Gold The No Dirty Gold campaign seeks to support the efforts of the many groups around the world seeking to end dirty gold mining practices. They created the Golden Rules, of which CRED are signatories.

CASM CASM is a global network with a stated mission to “to reduce poverty by improving the environmental, social, and economic performance of artisanal and small-scale mining in developing countries.” It is run DfID and the World Bank.

Fairtrade Chichester Fairtrade Chichester are a local campaign organisation, which successfully campaigned to see Chichester awarded Fairtrade City accreditation. The continue to "promote among the people of Chichester the idea of Fairtrade and the role it has in the battle against world poverty".

Fairtrade Gemstones Fairtrade Gemstones is a family business started by David Hargreaves, a mining engineer who has spent more than 25 years developing and consulting to the gemstone industry in both diamonds and coloured stones. He has developed gemstone mines in Africa which are prototypes and early examples of fair trade practice. He holds first class mine manager certificates in the UK and South Africa and, as a miner himself, understands and develops mines which uphold his principles.
