Mel White

British Italian born designer Mel White creates contemporary jewellery that is iconic, playful, and layered with symbolism.

White draws inspiration from line and form, both in nature and the man-made. This, along with her keen eye for detail in the things she observes, and her experience as a graphic designer inform her work.

She has a particular connection with wood its warmth and texture and loves to work with it as a material especially next to metal. Her design process is organic and she enjoys seeing new meanings and contexts unfold often resulting in playful outcomes drawing the wearer and viewer in.

White’s collection uses recycled silver, 24ct gold plate and sustainably sourced one off pieces of British wood thoughtfully selected from a Norfolk wood turner. Including oak burr, blue cedar, walnut and more depending on what’s available. All hand made with love in England.
