Ute Decker
Ute Decker is an artist-maker creating sculptural jewellery from ethical materials. Her work has been described as 'wearable sculptures'; minimalist pieces of art which are timeless.
She is influenced by the ancient japanese philosophy of Wabi Sabi - the harmony between the created form and the empty space it creates. Her work is enriched by her experience in other mediums such as sculpture, textiles, paper and ceramics.
Ute cares about every aspect of the craft, including the materials she uses, striving to use the most sustainable studio practices, Fairtrade gold, 100% recycled silver and recycled packaging. Each piece is individually hand crafted in her London studio, and each piece is unique, varying slightly in shape, texture or finish.
