Christian Cheesman
Christian Cheesman is CRED Jewellery’s Business Director and
a key part of our design team. He was the first designer to bring a certified
Fair Trade ring to a customer. As head of our bespoke design service he has
created hundreds of unique pieces for satisfied customers all over the world. A
tireless campaigner, he is one of the few people in the jewellery industry
worldwide to have experience of the entire supply chain, from mine to retail.
While studying 3D Design at university Christian focused on
the societal role of design and the social and environmental responsibilities
of designers. He was awakened to the responsible design movement and the
potential for the design process to encompass social and moral responsibility,
delivering global change while producing beautiful creations. On leaving
university he committed to applying his design talents as responsibly as
possible joining Greg Valerio to work with the CRED Foundation in 1999, and
becoming Greg’s partner in pioneering the Fair Trade aspects of CRED Jewellery
as the partnership with Oro Verde™ developed.
Christian is concerned with achieving elegance in both
ethics and aesthetics throughout the business:
